With the 20th anniversery of the begining of the construction of Splash Mountian, I thought I'd post some construction pics.


This shot is of the Bear Country entrance is from April 1987. The trees had been cut down.Next is from April 1988. Here is the back of the Indian Trading Post (now the Briar Patch)

Here are a couple of shots of the Tomorrowland Terrace in 1984. I love the orange! Who could ask for more in 1984? I can't remember if I posted these before :)

This is From the Skyway. I the background it the old mural on the Adventure thru Inner Space Building.

This shot is of Main Street during Circus Fantasy in 1987. this is of the trapeeze over the street.

This is a pic of Dumbo in 1990. This was sometime after the control arm broke and sent a little girl and her elephant halfway across Fantasyland!

THis last pic is of the Peoplemover Speedramps. It was taken sometime in 1996.

Here are some more construcion pics for you all! These are a few from the fall of 1996 at the begining of the 1998 Tomorrowland redo!

Looking from Space Mountain, We see that the old Mission To Mars building is closed off too!

This pic is from the Disneyland Railroad. If you look closely the old Peoplemover track is gone from inside the building!

town Square Cafe & Disneyland Showcase 1987

Here is a morning shot of the dining area of the Town Square Cafe just before it closed. I like it the yellow color.

And before it became the shop, Disney Showcase, it was the Disneyland Showcase. Here is where we saw the models of Tokyo Disneyland, The New Fantasyland, and Space Mountian. This fondly remembered exibit was closed when The Disney Gallery opened in 1987.

King Arther Carousel and New Look!

Here is a lovely pic of the carousel at dusk. In the background is the guidewires for the Skyway!

The Space Place

Here are a couple of shots of the old Space Place restaurant in Tomorrowland!

Here you see pics of the order windows, this is now covered up and is the FastPass staition for Space Mountain. The order windows are still there, but the kitchen had been gutted for a long time. Before the Magic Eye theater inclosed the Space Stage, this was a great place to eat and watch a show away from the crowds in Tomorrowland!
